Some Things I want to Learn how to do?

So my mind runs 90 miles an hour I find that I jump from one thing to the next and I have a long list of things that I want to learn for making jewelry.  I am so in awe of the wonderful artists that are in this community and the awesomeness that they create.  Here are a few things that I would love to learn how to do.

Do you have anything that you would like to try to create to stretch you skills and creativity?  Please share, and do you have any great places that could teach you these skills?

Take care,
Penny

  1. I have so many things I want to try, but first I have to get the basics down. I'm still pretty crappy at working with wire. But really I just want to move on to etching, soldering, using resin, metal patinas, and torch-fired enamels. Time is always an issue, plus there is that little voice inside that doubts my abilities to try these new techniques.

  2. i know exactly what you mean! i have to really hold myself back from buying new supplies :) though i'd really like to try Viking Knit and fortunately that wouldn't require anything new. there are a few bead stores near me that have basic classes, and a couple of Art centers but they're generally too expensive...but i've managed to learn quite a bit from free videos on Beaducation and YouTube.

  3. I totally get where you are coming from. I would absolutely adore to learn how to work with clay, to etch, to enamel.....these things all seem just a little beyond my just attempting them at home! I did have my first ever go a lamp working the other day. The beads arrived in the post yesterday....my, but they are rubbish, and yet, I'm so proud! I hope you can find teaching venues for these skills you've listed. Having these abilities would surely only enhance your lovely jewellery, I hope We can bit pick up some new skills to stretch ourselves.
