Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party!
What is a Bead Soup Blog Party?
Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following:
~ A focal
~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)
~ Some coordinating spacers or beads
~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)
~ Some coordinating spacers or beads
Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not.
Here's what I made!
Thank you for stopping by Copper Penny Designs and seeing what I made for the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party, this was my first time participating and it has been so much fun. I received some beautiful bead soup from my partner Maryse Thillen, of Glass Bead Art. Maryse really souped me and I had many different options that I could choose from in order to make my soup. I love Maryse's hearts and I couldn't resist using them in this recipe. Maryse and I had a bit of a disappointment because of me, I didn't realize that Luxembourg is it's own country, I thought it was part of Germany so I included this in the mailing details and unfortunately Maryse has not received her bead soup from me. I plan on still getting the soup to her so that she can still make something at a later time.
When I was finishing up my design and going to put the adorable sterling silver butterfly clasp that Maryse sent me it broke so I needed to improvise with something I had, it still has butterflies on it in honor of the one that Maryse sent to me.
I am really looking forward to making my way through all of your blogs, I hope you like what you see today and find some great inspiration and new friends. I know I will, I have made some new friends since this has all started, this is such a lovely community of people.
I want to especially thank Lori Anderson of Pretty Things for all of her tireless work on the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party, we had 210 participates and Lori had to spend an great deal of time getting us all organized and setting up emails and accommodating such a large mailing list. You are amazing Lori, thank you for being such a giving, caring person and letting us share in your world.

Hi! I love finding other "orange" people--it's by far my favorite color. I really like the wire-wrapping on the pearls. That caught me by surprise and really makes them special!
ReplyDeleteJen
I absolutely love the colours of this necklace - orange can be so hard to work with, but you've managed to make it look zesty and earthy at the same time!
ReplyDeleteWonderful necklace. I love the 3 strands of different beads! That thinnest strand is really cool! Great idea! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHi, still hopping- feels like I am limping though on a month long marathon race. I love the way you wire wrapped your clusters of beads in this necklace. Very creative!! Nice soup.
ReplyDeleteThe copper and the peach look great together and what's not to love about the beautiful heart. Great job. Alice's Beads and Baubles
